Join Cleveland’s premier television station, WEWS NewsChannel 5, an ABC affiliate. We are seeking an innovative, dynamic Morning Executive Producer.
The Morning Executive Producer is responsible for managing the content and showcasing across multiple platforms, ensuring that the station is competitive within the market. This person should be a high-energy leader, ready to manage a dynamic morning news team with strong emphasis on creativity and aggressive breaking news and weather coverage. Additional duties include:
Coordinate the content and presentation across multiple platforms
Enhance and support content with graphics, video and station branding
Review content for multiple platforms
Supervise pre-production to ensure quality and ethical standards and coordination between Control Room and design staff
Supervise the writing of content, including but not limited to teases and web headlines
Manage schedules, overtime and performance for assigned direct reports, including but not limited to yearly reviews
Monitor web analytics on a daily basis to enhance user experience, site stickiness and engagement
Post content to station’s web sites
Knowledge and demonstration of editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws
Create tactics and strategies to increase demo performance in key target areas for multiple platforms
Have working knowledge of federal, state and local laws impacting operations
Work with other departments to accomplish the objectives of the station
Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Four-year college degree.
EXPERIENCE: At least five (5) years professional broadcasting Executive Producer experience leading a news team.
EQUIPMENT: Must be proficient with newsroom computer systems and spreadsheet software applications. Proficient with Microsoft Office a plus.
SKILLS: Proven record of creativity, excellent people skills, and ability to handle deadline pressure. Must have excellent written and oral communication and proven effective delegation skills.
OTHER: Must have valid drivers license with safe driving record and proof of insurance.

SEGMENT PRODUCER
Books guests for live and taped appearances on Good Day Atlanta and Good Day Xtra under the direction of the executive producer; writes and produces guest segments utilizing appropriate props and visuals; coordinates guest appearances on GDA and GDX by greeting guests, helping them prepare for their on-air appearance and escorting them to and from the studio. Acts as a liaison with the production staff providing necessary technical and content information to the director, audio operator and floor director. Performs administrative and production tasks as assigned. Candidates must have a minimum of one year's experience as a television program guest coordinator, production assistant or similar position. An ability to write conversational broadcast copy under deadline, good communication skills and a proficiency in English grammar, spelling and punctuation are all required. TV Traffic Coordinator

Person needed to coordinate national and local commercial copy; will check-in and enter all national and local copy instructions for two stations, accurately following all instructions submitted in all formats. Maintain up to date, accessible files; keep tape library up to date and purged on a regular basis. Prior Traffic experience, strong PC, MC Office, and typing skills are required; experience with Wide Orbit Traffic system preferred. Excellent attention to detail, initiative, strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are necessary; must be able to work accurately and at a fast pace. The ability to interact professionally with a variety of people and provide quality service under tight deadlines is essential. College degree or equivalent experience is required.
