Two to three years of previous news experience and non-linear editing. ONN Photographers shoot on Panasonic P2 and edit using the Grass Valley NewsEdit system.

This position is responsible for covering the Ohio Statehouse, state government beats, and much more. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and enjoy the challenge of covering Statehouse and political news, and crafting the information into a compelling story that connects with the viewer. The successful candidate must be strong at enterprising stories. Must be willing to embrace multi-media concepts for various platforms. Familiarity with Ohio, including geography, history, and current events is a plus. Previous experience as a daily news reporter or anchor is required; college degree preferred. News 12 Long Island is seeking the right individual to be primary presenter of stories and other content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging, and meaningful to news consumers. Ensure all content meets News 12 Network standards for journalistic integrity and production quality. Anchor will assist in the writing, copy editing, researching and coordinating of news programming and other content presentation. Will act as field reporter as assigned as well as respond to breaking news and other urgent newsroom situations as required. Position is responsible for participating in promotional activities including public appearances, will also participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree or equivalent preferred as well as a minimum of four years full-time professional news experience including two years anchoring experience preferred. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to identify problems and develop situations. Superior on-air performance, excellent news judgment, and extensive knowledge of local and national current events and history, newsmakers, and issues are required. Should have excellent news writing and copy editing ability for all platforms, practical knowledge of newsgathering equipment and computers and knowledge of news production techniques.
