News 12 The Bronx/Brooklyn is seeking the right individual to shoot and/or edit video of sports stories and events, including but not limited to game highlights, feature sports stories and other sports-specific programming for News 12 The Bronx and News 12 Brooklyn. Will cover local sports in The Bronx and Brooklyn on the little league, high school, collegiate and professional levels. Will work independently or as part of a team to create pictures and sound which accurately and fairly represent the news, recording raw video and audio and turning it into finished product. Will conduct interviews as a “One Man Band” when needed. Accountable for maintaining assigned equipment, including news vehicles, cameras, lights, editors and peripheral gear. Position will be responsible for editing video and audio material for distribution of the News 12 services, including segments or entire programs. Candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience in a television field production area including knowledge of how to shoot and edit. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred. Should have basic knowledge of production equipment and computers as well as knowledge of news operations and practices. Should also have an interest in and knowledge of sports. Must have the ability to communicate effectively and the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines. A flexible schedule with ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as well as a valid driver`s license and a good driving record are required. Overview:
News 12 is seeking a highly motivated self-starter to assist our management team in running the day-to-day newsroom operations in Brooklyn-Bronx. Qualified candidates will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, budgeting and forecasting experience, excellent multi-tasking abilities and in depth knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Provide operational analysis to assist News 12 management team in running day-to-day operations.
· Review and evaluate processes and procedures to ensure operational efficiencies and fiscal responsibility.
· Develop operational and CAPEX forecasts and budgets for multi-departmental news operation.
· Monitor and evaluate financial and statistical measures to ensure adherence to budgets and forecasts.
· Report deviations to plan to corporate finance, accounting and senior management staff on an on-going basis.
· Daily interaction with operational management team and corporate staff.
· Process, monitor, track, and approve all invoices, personnel paperwork and related documentation for all operating and capital expenditures for the Bronx/Brooklyn news operation.
· Develop tracking and analysis to prepare and complete Brooklyn-Bronx month end close package.
· Prepare monthly variance commentary analysis for senior management review.
· Work closely with News 12 Business Managers and DPA to help identify and implement best practices across all regions.
· Support and assist the DPA when necessary.
· Develop ad- hoc reports to identify cost deviations and operational efficiencies.
Requirements:
· Minimum 5-7 years financial planning/budgeting background required.
· Ability to multi-task in fast paced news room operation
· Candidate should possess exceptional interpersonal skills.
· Must be analytical person with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of database relationships is essential to success.
· Must possess a Finance or Business degree.
· Media experience is preferred.

Candidates should have proven experience of generating their own story ideas and delivering the news with great on-camera presence. Exceptional communication skills are required as well as the ability to edit video for newscasts. Previous on-air reporting experience is required.
